This wonderful event is already sold out! Runnymede Farm will be host for the chili cook-off and barbecue this Sunday, Sept. 25, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Our local firefighter/cooks from the Woodside fire protection district will square off against cooks from local restaurants, including Alice’s Restaurant and The Village Pub.
This sold out event is to benefit the Woodside-Portola Valley Fire Protection Foundation. The Foundation helps supply the Woodside Fire Protection District with the latest in equipment, facilities and training. The Woodside-Portola Valley Fire Protection Foundation was established in 2009 to supplement the Fire Protection District budget. The Fire Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization it helps enable WFPD to provide the most advanced and efficient emergency services.
Remember for next year the chili cook-off and barbecue is a fun friendly way to express support for the District and enjoy the cowmunity get together. There will be a tour of the wonderful sculpture garden as well as a silent auction and lots of children’s activates. Those who attend can help choose the winner of the chili contest!
So even though this year’s event is sold out this is a wonderful organization that benefits the cowmunity and you can still make a donation. For more information on the foundation go here.
