March 5, 2015

The Town COWncil has approved a contract with the construction management company, Nova Partners with a budget of no more than $212,000 for the Woodside library internal remodeling project. This Palo Alto company will provide construction management services for the project. The project itself will have a $2.3 million price tag.

This project was first was planned in 2010. There was considerable COWmmunity input into developing project goals. The project was delayed by budget concerns. The interior renovation of the Woodside Library will focus on reconfiguring the existing layout to create a more functional library.

The result will be a more welcoming environment that includes new technologies, and flexible space, browsing areas for high demand materials, improved service points and more.

Approval of Plans and Specifications for Library Renovation Project is to be on the COWncil agenda of March 10th. Town staff will be requesting bids for the construction in the next month or so. It is expected that the work on the Library will begin in June.

We are very excited to see this project finally move forward. This library was built in 1968 and has been is a unique and important asset to the Town. With its wonderful programs for the small ones to its one of a kind Native Plant Garden, there is something for everyone.
