We are justifiably proud of our library, which is one of 12 branches (plus bookmobile) of the San Mateo Library, a Joint Powers Authority. The library is presenting two interesting cow-munity involvement opportunities.
First our forty year old building is about to undergo an interior renovation project and your opinions and ideas are being welcomed. You can review the conceptual plan and give feedback using the library’s Community Input Survey. The plan and survey are available at the Woodside Library or online here. The last day to submit feedback is Tuesday, September 21st. Our Town Council will review the conceptual plan on Tuesday, September 28th.
Secondly, our library is joining with libraries all across the state in participating in “Snapshot: One Day in the Life of California Libraries” on Monday, October 4, 2010. The California Library Association has organized the Snapshot in order to show how important academic, public, school, and special libraries are to the state of California. It is part of a national campaign led by the American Library Association. COWs who visit our library on Monday, October 4th, will be cow-nted in this first ever “snapshot”. The Library will compile statistics, customer comments, photographs, and other data chronicling a typical library day. The results will be added to those of other libraries across California. We look forward to seeing the results.
