The 96th Woodside May Day parade and the 27th annual Fun Run are this Saturday, May 5! There is no better way to celebrate May Day and Cinco de Mayo!
Woodside Road will be closed at 8:30 for the Town’s Fun Run. Same day registration begins at 7:30.
There are lots of activities. The annual pancake breakfast sponsored by the Woodside/Portola Valley Rotary Club, will be held at the Woodside Village Church at 3154 Woodside Road.
The Woodside schools parade begins at 10 a.m. at the school at 3195 Woodside Road. The parade which goes from the school to Roberts market and back Canada will include a grand marshal and a royal court of kindergarteners chosen from the current kindergarten class, a band, horses and much more.
Following the parade, the school community adjourns to the school’s outdoor amphitheater for a May pole dance by third-graders and the presentation of the Woodside Citizen of the Year award followed by a carnival and a barbecue provided by Alice’s Restaurant in Woodside. These starting at noon and ending at 2:30 p.m. on the school grounds. Tickets for the lunch are available for purchase at the school or go here to buy tickets online.
On Sunday May 6th come have fun at Woodside’s 6th annual Soap Box Derby! The practice runs start at 10AM and the Race begins at 11AM. This will be followed by a BBQ at Noon. The race is held right next to Town Hall at the town center parking lot (behind the Pioneer). Race participants are Children ages 6-12 using mom, dad and kid built cars.
