May Day Celebration is a wild, moo-ervelously fun filled Woodside Weekend with the May Day Fun Run, May Day Parade and Woodside Soapbox Derby!
This celebration starts off with the annual Fun Run which is in its 28th year! Food, T-Shirts, Refreshments and Fun! Begins Saturday May 4th at 8:30AM Arrive by 7:30AM to register and 8AM if you have pre-registered. The Registration form is here. and the Race Route is here.
Don’t forget the breakfast!
Delicious warm pancakes on a Saturday morning is more alluring for some of us than the idea of running first thing in the morning. Don’t worry, Woodside–Portola Valley Rotary Club has got us covered with their Pancake Breakfast, hosted at the Woodside Village Church from 8 to 10 am. Cheer on your neighbors with a full tummy and warm syrupy smiles! $10 / adults and $5 / kids 8 and under.
Next up on Saturday is the May Day PARADE!!
The 97th annual Woodside May Day Parade! It’s truly a Woodside only COW-munity event! The Parade will hoof it down Woodside Road starting from Woodside Road and Albion Avenue at 10 am. It is a fantastic traditional old town experience. Each year, the Parade features beautiful horses with their riders, parade floats, live bands, and classic cars in all their entertaining variety. The Parade is led by the Grand Marshal and the kindergarten Royal Court.
Afterwards, there’s still plenty to do! The third graders of Woodside Elementary School perform their must see Maypole Dance at the amphitheater. The carnival runs all day at the school. Great food and live music keep the good times flowing, as families sample the carnival games, crafts and booths available. The Town’s Citizen of the Year awards are bestowed during the event, a nice acknowledgement of the hard work the volunteers of this Town put in every year.
So come out and meet your neighbors and enjoy all that Woodside living has to offer at this year’s May Day Celebration!
