We applaud Woodside resident Andreas Mede for a winning entry, chosen by a blind jury, entitled Ice Maze in the Warming Huts v.2016: An Art + Architecture Completion on Ice. Three huts were chosen from 160 entries from all over the world. The other winners were a team from Russia and a professor at the University of Nebraska School of architecture.
The Forks is a meeting place in Winnipeg, the capital city of Manitoba, Canada. It has been a meeting place for over 6,000 years. Early Aboriginal peoples traded at The Forks, followed by European fur traders, Métis buffalo hunters, Scottish settlers, riverboat workers, railway pioneers and tens of thousands of immigrants.
If any of you creative COWs, is interested The Forks is seeking entries for its first ever Winter Wind Derby competition from all designers, tinkerers, artists, and everyday gadgeteers to enter their own wind-powered, personal propulsion contraption. Sounds like fun!
