Holiday Cheer

We here at COW wish you and yours a happy holiday. As always we have some ideas about fun and festive things to do.

The Hiller Museum is a special place for kids all year around but they have a number of activities throughout the holiday season.
Consider the Starlab Sky Show which is a special 30-minute star shows are for adults and children ages 5 and up. Wednesday, December 26th 2:00 PM and Thursday, December 27th at 10:30 AM, 11:30 AM, 12:30 PM, 2:00 PM. Admission $4-$5 Starlab ticket Museum Admission: $8-$12 Free for kids 4 and under.

Also at Hiller Museum Aviation Camp December 26-28 and January 2-4.
And Noonyear Celebration Monday, DECEMBER 31st 10 am – 1p.m. pm

Friday, December 21st

Story Time at Hucklebees
For the little ones, storyteller, Margaret More is appearing at one of our unique locally owned bookstores. She tells tales with an occasional songs. There is an in-store parade for which pajamas & slippers are recommended. The best age is 4 and up. It starts at 6:30. Location: 1378 Lincoln Ave in San Jose. Admission is fee.

The Wind in the Willows Presented by the Palo Alto Children’s Theater .
This is a great production of the classic tale. The Children’s Theater is part of the Lucie Stern Community Center, at the corner of Middlefield and Melville (1305 Middlefield Road) in Palo Alto. It costs $10-$12. It starts at 7:00p.m.

December 22nd

A Christmas Carol – One-Man Show Featuring Duffy Hudson
Broadway and film actor Duffy Hudson playing all 46 characters without props or costumes. This is something to see. This 75-minute show is recommended for the entire family. Admission is free. It begins at 2 p.m. at the Cupertino Library 10800 Torre Avenue Cupertino,

The Great Dickens Christmas Fair at the COW Palace.
This is a standard favorite. You are transported int the London Streets in the time of Dickens. Admission $10-$25 Free for kids under 5. $10 Parking. Sat, Sun: 10am-7pm

December 27th

Brave – Presented by the San Mateo Library.
This PG rated animated film tells the story of Princess Brave for school age children, with free popcorn before the movie, as available. Admission is Free. Time: 5:15 pm (Thu). City of San Mateo,330 W. 20th Avenue, San Mateo 650-522-7440

A CHRISTMAS CAROL at the San Jose Rep.
This original adaptation gets rave reviews. The Rep is located at 101 Paseo de San Antonio San Jose 408.367.7255.

FANTASY OF LIGHTS at Vasona Lake County Park
This great Park is located at 333 Blossom Hill Rd., Los Gatos, California 95032 and the Fantasy of Lights is featured from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm nightly is in its 14th year. It is a 1.5 mile drive-through holiday lights and display entertainment extravaganza for the whole family..

Christmas in the Park is a non-profit that’s been doing a Christmas festival in San Jose for over 20 years. It has wonderful Christmas displays as well as Downtown Ice with outdoor ice skating and rides for the kids. Great family fun.

SF Zoo Lights Reindeer Romp Holiday Happenings
Reindeer Romp returns with Santa’s favorite reindeer friends Belle, Holly, Peppermint and Velvet. These four majestic animals mark the return of the holidays here at the Zoo and will be on exhibit through New Year’s Day. Stop by the reindeer area near Lion Fountain and check it out. Free with Zoo admission. See the nightly lights make the evening at the zoo even more exciting. Also Winter Camp on December 26-28 and January 2-4.
