No joke Easter is April 1st. There are lots of family friendly things to do. Don’t forget to bring your own baskets for egg hunts. Some activities require advance registration or small fees so get more information and confirm the time of activities by going to the websites provided. Happy Easter!

Peninsula
Gamble Garden’s Easter Egg Hunt
Gamble Gardens has 3 Easter egg hunts and kids can also enjoy a supervised petting zoo with more than 20 animals, as well as arts and crafts, There are Easter Bunny photos and an Easter Egg Hunt in the garden. Three scheduled hunts last approximately one hour. Start times are 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Los Altos Spring Egg Hunt
Rain or shine the festivities will go on with an egg hunt for toddlers and kids up to age 10 having. Mr. Fun E. Bunny will be there at 9:30 a.m. to kick things off. The hunt begins at 10 a.m. and there will be staggered start times for different age groups. There will be crafts, face painting and games to enjoy.

41st Annual City of San Mateo Eggstravaganza
Starting with a pancake breakfast (9-11 a.m.), followed by an egg hunt which will be held multiple times during the day.. Kids ages 1-3 can visit Peter Rabbit’s Playground, an area set up just for them. Kids 4-9 can go for the Big Egg Hunt. There will be a parade at 10:30 a.m., photos with the Easter Bunny, and live entertainment including a magician. Egg hunts: 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m., every half hour. San Bruno Easter Egg Hunt
The day starts off with a pancake breakfast from 9:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m. Free Children’s games and activities between 10:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m. Egg Hunts will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will be staggered every 15 minutes by ages 1-8.
When: Sat., March 24, 9:00 a.m. – noon
Where: Veterans Memorial Recreation Center, 251 City Park Way, San Bruno, CA
Cost: Hunts and children’s activities are free, Breakfast is $6/adult, $4/Over 65 and under 12; and 6 and under free with paid adult.

Campbell Eggstravaganza & 20th Annual Bunnies and Bonnets Parade
The wonderful Eggstravaganza, includes Campbell’s annual egg hunt, bouncy houses, face painting and pictures with the Easter Bunny. Kids 1-4 get their own fenced in area. Grab a donut and some coffee, then follow a parade bunny to score a spot along the sidewalk for the Bunnies and Bonnets parade. Kids ages 5-12 can make a stop before the egg hunt for a sidewalk chalk art contest. The egg hunt starts at 10:30 a.m. sharp.

Eggstraordinary Easter Egg Hunt at Roaring Camp in Felton
With a visit from the Easter Bunny, an egg hunt and also trains makes for a great day at Roaring Camp! Kids will ride Roaring Camp’s real 1880s Steam Train beneath an ancient Redwood canopy, over Indian Creek Trestle and through the Santa Cruz Mountains. The Easter Bunny will hop on through to the top of Bear Mountain where kids will go on the hunt for chocolate eggs. Purchase tickets for the Easter Steam Train. Rides start at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.

Almaden Lake Park Spring Egg Hunt
Spring into spring at Almaden Lake’s 5th annual Spring Egg Hunt! Fun family event for a day full of egg hunts for age groups 1-12, special prizes to those that find the GOLDEN EGG, face-painting and arts and crafts. First hunt kicks off at 9:30 a.m., for ages 3-4, following various age groups ’till 2:00 p.m. Check in is at 9:00 a.m. and arts and crafts from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Please bring your own basket.

Epic Easter Egg Drop
The Epic Easter egg drop includes 25,000 Easter eggs that will drop from the San Jose sky over Oak Grove High School Football Field this Easter, via hot air balloon! Southridge Church invites the community to come out and enjoy food, bounce houses for the kids! Egg hunt begins at 9:00 a.m. with the 0-2 crowd, followed by the 3-5 and 6-10 year olds at 10:15 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Registration is free and recommended.

San Francisco
Union Street’s Easter Parade and Spring Celebration
The biggest little parade in San Francisco, the Union Street Easter Parade and Spring Celebration, is a great family fun event. Described as “wonderful, wacky, elegant and fabulous, featuring everything from “roller-blading cows and creative self-propelled mini-floats to garden areas, sophisticated fashions and beautiful classic and art cars.” There will also be a petting zoo, pony rides, and other children’s activities and music. The Union Street event, from Gough to Filmore, begins at 10 a.m. The parade starts at 2 p.m. Hat contest judging 11:15 a.m.–1:30 p.m. At Buchanan and Union.

San Francisco Spring Eggstravaganza
A terrific egg hunt in the city’s biggest park is an annual celebration which includes carnival rides, games, egg hunts, live entertainment, and the highly anticipated annual Rib Cook-Off between SF Rec and Park, SF Fire, SF Police and other city departments.
When: Sat., March 31, 11 a.m.–3 p.m.

Ghirardelli Square Easter Festival
Moo-sy on down to this annual festival which includes many fun Easter activities! Have fun with glitter tattoos, face painting, balloon artists, treats and a special appearance from the Easter Bunny!
