Earth Fair in Woodside this Saturday!

March 23, 2015

An Earth Fair jointly sponsored by Woodside and Portola Valley will be held at the Mounted Patrol Rounds 521 Kings Mountain Road from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday March 28th. The purpose is to help COWs and COPs (Citizens of Portola) learn ways to reduce their carbon footprint. Among other things there will be an equestrian exhibition; an animal show and petting zoo; alternative fuel vehicles; games; awards; and information on composting and gardening, energy saving and water conservation. Tickets {which include a food voucher) are $10 until March 27 or $12 at the door and are available at Town Hall. There is a bonus $2 food voucher if you come by bike or horse!

They are seeking nominations for a Woodside Environmental Champion! This award is for the COW who “has made significant contributions toward protecting and augmenting our rural environment, native plants, trees, wildlife, creeks, and/or landscapes in and around our community.” Nominations should be sent to Environmental Champion, SCC, Woodside Town Hall, 2955 Woodside Road, Woodside, CA 94062 or email to Rob Flint at robflint@sbcglobal.net.

We think this award is a great idea and hope the event and the award will be annual events.
