It may be an oxymoron but Labor Day is a day intended for fun and relaxation so put that old honey do list away and join your neighbors. Our own Kings Mountain Art Fair is a must. However, there are other fun things going on all over the Bay Area. We have listed a few below. Enjoy your Labor Day weekend!
Saturday September 3rd

Belmont Greek Festival
12:00 pm at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Cross located at 900 Alameda De Las Pulgus, Belmont.
Dine on fabulous Greek dishes such as dolmades, spanakopita, gyros and moussaka, plus delectable desserts such as baklava, loukoumades, galatobouriko and kourambiethes!

Bandstand Boogie
From 2:00 pm to 10 pm Saturday at Oak Meadow Park, Los Gatos.
This is an all day live music event, the Los Gatos Bandstand Boogie, is hosted at Oak Meadow Park. It is a free event with live music performances featuring top local bands and recording artists.

The San Francisco Shakespeare Festival
Saturday 7:30 Sunday and Monday at 2:30 at The Presidio’s Main Post Parade Ground Lawn (between Graham St & Keyes Ave).
Also a free event, this year’s play is the Cymbeline, one of Shakespeare’s less known and more fantastical works and with enough magic to keep even the young family members captivated. The performances are outside, so be sure to bring blankets and layers of clothing to fight that San Francisco fog. A Labor Day picnic is also a key accessory at this event. Walnut Creek Familyfest
Beginning at 10AM to 6PM Saturday, Sunday and Monday at Heather Farms Park.
This traditional Labor Day family festival which is perfect for kids of all ages. It features almost one hundred free activities and performances, rides, arts and crafts, and a diverse food court.

The Lululemon 5k/10k run
9:00 am Sunday at Hellyer County Park, San Jose.
This 5K/10K run provides a scenic tour of Hellyer County park and the adjoining Coyote Creek trail besides being a great run!
Sunday and Monday September 4th and 5th.

The 30th annual Harvest Wine Celebration
12:00PM to 5PM Sunday and Monday
Complimentary shuttle buses take guests to over 40 wineries, where guests will enjoy: wine tasting, music, food and art vendors, wine discounts, and more. On Monday, the wineries will be hosting self guided tours. In addition to wine tasting there will be activities such as winemaker discussions, bottle your own wines, barrel tastings.

Labor Day Steam Weekend with SP2472
10AM Saturday and 3PM Monday September 3rd and 5th at the Canyon Railway, Sunol.
Make it a train weekend and ride behind a vintage steam locomotive, Southern Pacific No. 2472, as the train travels through scenic Niles Canyon. Sponsored by the Golden Gate Railroad Museum and the Pacific Locomotive Association, this event is a fundraiser which supports the restoration of historic artifacts and the rail line.
