We encourage you to attend the Sudden Oak Death meeting at Independence Hall on Friday, October 26 at 7PM. As we have been reporting for years, SOD is a serious problem that could change the look of our COWmunity. UC Berkley works with local residents to identify areas where preventative action can be effective. Residents collect samples for the scientists to analyze. See here for more SOD Blitz information.
At Fridays meeting, they will be reporting the SOD Blitz results and discussing Prevention Training. Adjunct Associate Professor, Matteo Garbelotto, at the Department of Environmental Science, Policy and Management UC-Berkely, will present the results of the SOD Blitz and lead the training. The Prevention Training will be held the following day October 27 at 1:30 in Portola Valley at the Portola Valley Ranch House, 1 Indian Crossing.
For more information you can contact the Town of Woodside 851-6790 or the Town of Portola Valley 851-1700.
