Calling all COWs!! There is a real opportunity to make a big difference. There are two vacancies on the Architectural and Site Review Board (ASRB). The ASRB reviews residential applications for community character, site planning, building design, and landscape elements; reviews applications for non-residential development. It makes recommendations to the Planning Director or Planning Commission regarding approval or disapproval, and suggests modifications or imposes conditions.
The ASRB, more so than most other Boards and COWmittees, has enormous influence on what you can do with your property in Woodside. It has long been very problematic. It creates an unreasonable delays and burdens on COWs trying to do improve their own homes. COWs need to get involved and help make changes for the better. See our stories on problems with the ASRB here and here.
The two members whose terms are up in February are Nancy Reyering and Maggie Mah. The deadline to apply is Monday, January 30, 2017, 5:00 p.m. For more information and an application please contact the Town Clerk’s office, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.-12 noon and 1-5:00 p.m., or telephone (650) 851-6790. You may also go to the Town’s web site here, under Residents, Volunteer Opportunities here or ASRB here .
There are openings on many other COWmittees as well. We’ve mentioned it before here and here that there seems to be to many COWmittees and just too few volunteers, meaning many of the same people year after year make all the policy decisions for our town. See the list below.
