The May Day Parade and Annual Fun Run is one of the events which makes Woodside such a special cowmunity. Every year on the first Saturday in May, Woodsiders of all ages come together for these wonderful events. This year they will be held on May 7th.
This will be the 94th year that the Parade has been held. It is sponsored by the Woodside Elementary School PTA and is truly a tradition Woodside can be proud of.
For the last 25 years the day has begun with a Fun Run, organized by the Woodside Recreation Committee. A Pancake Breakfast organized by the Rotary Club of Woodside-Portola Valley is held at the Woodside Village Church. The parade starts promptly at 10:00am. Check-in for the parade by 9:00am at the Woodside School. The parade is led by the Grand Marshal and followed by the Kindergarten Royal Court which is chosen from the 2015-2016 Kindergarten class at Woodside Elementary. The Sheriff’s department closes Woodside Road (Highway 84) at 8:30 a.m. Since maneuvering through crowds and cars can be difficult, early arrival is encouraged.
Tickets for the lunch and carnival may be purchased in advance at the Woodside Elementary School Office at 3195 Woodside Road. Parade registration forms are available in advance at the Woodside Elementary School office (3195 Woodside Road) or online.
