This year will be the 10th anniversary of the Woodside Day of the Horse. Held annually on the second Saturday of October, it is a great family fun and equine loving event. This year’s Day of the Horse will be held October 13th 2018.
There are 2 main features for Day of the Horse:
The Horse Fair where you can learn about the “Horse’s heritage and legacy in shaping the character of Woodside” and find out about local horse organizations and riding programs. There will be kid’s activities and craft projects as well as demonstrations. Admission to the horse fair is free.
The Progressive Trail Ride is a true family event which includes all ages. Riders from all over the state have attended and everyone is encored to bring their horses and tour Woodside’s trails. People and horses alike are treated to finger-food, beverages, snacks and restrooms and water are provided. Don’t miss getting a spot in Woodside’s Day of the Horse Progressive Trail Ride!
Donations from riders and sponsors provide gifts to a number of very worthy local horse related projects. Past donations have helped the terrific Woodside Junior Riders Program, our trail system, restoration of the historic Folger Stable, County Parks, Large Animal Rescue Equipment, and the Veryl Goodnight Sculpture in downtown Woodside.
This truly local event would not be possible without the 120+ volunteers it takes to put it together. Help is always needed so please consider pitching in! Volunteer Form here.
